MODESTE Palmangue DAWATE aka “MD” is a young Togolese born on February 24, 1991, in Dapaong in northern Togo. Since his childhood, he shows a particular interest in the field of art by being interested in drawing cartoons. After graduating from high school in 2011, he began training in finance and accounting at the University of Kara. During a casting in 2014, he discovered his passion for filmmaking. He immediately launched an amateur series called “Let’skeep it quiet and laugh” filmed from his smartphone back then. The Serie have had tremendous success which triggers a new filmmaking career on him, and he decided to go back to an audiovisual and production training center for more training. He was also offered an internship in Heaven Peace production. And In 2020, he launched his own production company called Global Movies Studio; and in Collaboration with AK Record, YP Production, and the YMC Akara, his short film called “AMA” (in the name of honor) became reality with tremendous success. Modeste is finishing a bachelor’s degree in filmmaking at ESEC Film School in Togo, and he is also working as an audiovisual technician at the university of kara. He has been always involved in community development programs and projects in kara; and he is currently the president of the Young Men’s Christian Association (YMCA) regional union of Kara and the coordinator of Askkanwii Hub Togo.
