About Us
Askkanwii Filmmaking Hub Incubator is a 501(C)3 organization located in Denver, Colorado, USA. Catering to underrepresented communities, both local and abroad. It was established by Ousmane Ndoye in 2013 with a vision to impart education to help shape tomorrow’s content creators, artists and filmmakers.
OUR PURPOSE
Our organization, Askkanwii Filmmaking Hub, is dedicated to fostering a sense of community through our work in the arts. We believe in connecting people, cultures, histories, and heritages beyond borders through the mediums of filmmaking, music, theater, and world literature. Our purpose is to use these creative platforms to bring diverse communities together, celebrating the richness and uniqueness of each individual’s cultural heritage. By promoting cross-cultural exchange and collaboration, we seek to create a more connected and inclusive world.
OUR MISSION
Our mission is to incubate, train, and mentor filmmakers in Colorado and in the diaspora with programs that can help galvanize and provide opportunities for underrepresented young people with artistic skills and passions.
Askkanwii means “community” in Wolof, the native dialect of Senegal.

Our vision is to establish a vibrant and inclusive filmmaking ecosystem for underrepresented individuals, fostering a community that provides them with opportunities and access to essential resources. Through our initiatives, we aim to facilitate connectivity among content creators, encourage the production of innovative films, and establish robust distribution channels. By promoting diverse arts, cultures, and traditions, we seek to enhance the well-being of Colorado’s communities, promoting unity and understanding among all.
What We Do
Utilizing advanced technology and modern practices for the 21st century, Askkanwii Filmmaking Hub has been creating and providing filmmaking programs, platforms, and forums that are accessible to underrepresented in Colorado and the diaspora.
Additionally, the organization collaborates with fellow filmmakers, filmmaking associations, and industry experts in Colorado and the diaspora.
