At Askkanwii Hub Filmmaking Incubator, we believe in making Colorado a prominent hub for filmmaking, with a focus on diversity, inclusion, and equity for those who have been historically underrepresented.
We strive to create a bridge between Colorado and Africa, providing aspiring filmmakers with the necessary tools, skills, and resources to express their skills and talents.
Our three core programs are:
- Filmmaking Educational Programs: We provide comprehensive educational programs that equip aspiring filmmakers with the knowledge and skills needed to succeed in the industry. Our programs cover a wide range of topics, from scriptwriting and directing to editing and post-production.
- Filmmaking Production Platforms: We offer state-of-the-art production platforms to enable filmmakers to create high-quality films. Our production facilities are equipped with the latest technology and equipment, ensuring that filmmakers have everything they need to bring their vision to life.
- Filmmaking Forums & Exhibits: We organize forums and exhibits that showcase the work of talented filmmakers, creating opportunities for collaboration, networking, and sharing of knowledge. These events provide a platform for aspiring filmmakers to showcase their work, learn from industry experts, and connect with other creatives.
Through these programs, we are committed to promoting diversity, inclusion, and equity in the film industry, empowering people to achieve their filmmaking dreams and contribute to the growth and success of Colorado’s film community.

Vision 54
Our vision is to have Askkanwii Filmmaking Hubs in all 54 countries of the continent of Africa in years to come.
Askkanwii Filmmaking Hub has been developing filmmaking programs, production platforms, and filmmaking forums accessible to people who traditionally have not had access or opportunity in the industry. We do this through online mentoring, teaching, and collaboration.
The global pandemic allowed us to think outside of the box about co-creation methods that preserve African narratives that are unique to specific countries. In addition, it was evident that new technology could be used to showcase hidden skills and talents that exist in areas of the world that have historically been under resourced in the filmmaking industry. This co-creation across borders will bring stories, content, and discoveries to the American market.
Askkanwii (Wolof dialect of Senegal) translates to “community” and we believe that is just what all films are made of – the ideas, skills, talents and passions of community. As a nonprofit, our main goal is to provide opportunities for young people to shine in the industry.
We welcome partners, collaborators, production companies, distributors, and investors to join this unique and exciting opportunity to unite filmmakers beyond borders. Please reach out to Ousmane Ndoye, Founder and Executive Director, with inquiries or questions.
